The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has approved Sunshine Stars’ return to the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, as their home ground.
Sunshine Stars initially adopted the stadium at the start of the season due to renovation works at their primary home, the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure. However, the NPFL later directed them to play at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne due to concerns over the playing surface at Dipo Dina Stadium.
Following improvements at the Ijebu Ode venue, NPFL Chief Executive Officer Davidson Owumi confirmed the league’s approval for its use, citing logistical and scheduling challenges at the Remo Stars Stadium.
Sunshine Stars will return to the Dipo Dina Stadium for their matchday 31 fixture against Heartland on Wednesday. The Owena Waves, led by coach Abubakar Bala, are currently in 19th place on the NPFL table.
