Abia Warriors head coach, Imama Amapakabo, is expecting a difficult encounter against Sunshine Stars in their upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 23 fixture. The highly anticipated clash will take place on Sunday, with both teams eager to secure crucial points.
Despite expressing optimism about a possible home victory, Amapakabo acknowledged the challenge his team will face. He emphasized the need for total commitment from his players, as they aim to continue their strong run in the league.
"Most importantly, we have to believe that we have a couple of wins, and I think everybody is rearing to go. Everybody has the belief that we may be able to get victory come Sunday. We know it's going to be a difficult game, no doubt," Amapakabo stated.
The experienced tactician pointed out the dangers of facing teams battling relegation, stressing that Sunshine Stars will put up a strong fight. "Whenever we play against these teams struggling at the moment, we know it’s going to be tough. They’re going to come and give it their all, so we have to give our all to get victory," he added.
Amapakabo also assured that Abia Warriors will not take their opponents lightly. He noted that his team will approach the game with full concentration and determination to secure the three points.
Sunshine Stars, currently 17th on the league table with 24 points, are desperate to climb out of the relegation zone. Meanwhile, Abia Warriors sit comfortably in 5th place with 33 points and will be looking to strengthen their position among the top teams.
With both teams having a lot at stake, the match promises to be an intense battle as Abia Warriors aim to maintain their momentum, while Sunshine Stars fight to turn their season around.
