Nasarawa United Part Ways with Kabir Dogo, Appoint Salisu Yusuf as New Coach

Nasarawa United have officially parted ways with their Technical Director, Kabir Dogo, following a mutual agreement between both parties. The club made this announcement in a statement released on Sunday, confirming that the decision takes immediate effect.

The move comes after a comprehensive review of the club’s performance in the ongoing 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season. Nasarawa United acknowledged that they had fallen short of their expectations, prompting a need for change in leadership.

Despite the commitment of Dogo and his coaching staff, the team’s results did not meet the required standard. The club management stated that while the decision was difficult, it was necessary to move in a new direction to salvage their season.

Coach Kabir Dogo

Kabir Dogo, who was on his second stint with the club, expressed his gratitude to the management, players, and supporters for their backing during his time with the Solid Miners. He wished the team success in their future endeavors while reflecting on his time with the club.

In response to the current challenges, Nasarawa United has appointed former Super Eagles Chief Coach, Salisu Yusuf, as Dogo’s replacement. The experienced tactician will take charge of the team immediately as they look to turn their season around.

Coach Salisu Yusuf

Salisu Yusuf, a Kaduna-born coach with a CAF 'A' coaching license, brings a wealth of experience to the club. Having managed at both club and national levels, Nasarawa United hopes his arrival will provide the much-needed boost to their campaign.

The club reassured their fans that they remain committed to improving performances and competing at the highest level in Nigerian club football. They emphasized that the decision to bring in Yusuf was made with the long-term vision of stabilizing and strengthening the team.

Nasarawa United further appreciated their supporters for their patience and understanding during this transition period. They acknowledged the disappointment of recent results but urged fans to continue backing the team.

With Salisu Yusuf now at the helm, all eyes will be on Nasarawa United’s next few fixtures to see if the coaching change can yield immediate positive results. The club remains hopeful that his expertise will steer them away from their current struggles.
