Osigwe's Brace Leads Edo Queens to Victory Over Heartland Queens

Edo Queens continued their impressive start to the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership season with a 2-1 victory over Heartland Queens on Wednesday at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

Osigwe Goodness was the hero for the defending champions, scoring in the 40th and 70th minutes to secure the win. Heartland Queens found the net in the 48th minute through Monica Matthew, but her effort wasn’t enough to deny Edo Queens their second consecutive win of the season.

The victory follows Edo Queens' commanding 5-0 triumph over Abia Angels in their season opener last week in Benin, cementing their perfect start and status as early favorites in the league.
