Edo Queens head coach, Moses Aduku, has commended his team’s performance following their emphatic 5-0 victory over Abia Angels in the opening match of the Nigerian Women’s Football League (NWFL) season. The match took place on Wednesday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.
Reflecting on the result, Aduku praised both his team and the quality of the opposition. "It is just the first game, but Abia Angels are not a pushover team," he remarked. "It was a quality game against a good side, even though we secured a big-margin win."
The comprehensive victory sets a strong tone for Edo Queens as they aim to build momentum in the new campaign. Next, the team will travel to Owerri to face Heartland Queens in a Matchday 2 fixture scheduled for Wednesday.
