Lobi Stars head coach, Daniel Amokachi, expressed his disappointment following his team’s narrow 1-0 loss to Remo Stars in their NPFL Matchday 10 encounter. Amokachi described the defeat as "unfortunate," given the solid performance from his players and the numerous chances they created. Despite their efforts, missed opportunities by forwards Ossy Martins and Jimmy Iteji kept Lobi Stars from finding the back of the net in Ikenne on Sunday.

The Makurdi-based team had a promising first half, ending 0-0, but their missed opportunities proved costly in the second half. Shortly after the restart, Michael Ibe of Remo Stars scored a decisive header, giving the home team a slim advantage. Lobi Stars pushed hard for an equalizer, with several promising runs and shots, but they ultimately couldn't break down Remo’s defense, resulting in a 1-0 defeat.

Following the match, Amokachi acknowledged his players’ effort and commitment, noting their progress in adapting to his tactical approach. “We played a 4-5-1 formation away from home, and it suits us very well. When you play like that, you need to be focused 120%, but when you go to sleep, you get punished,” Amokachi said. Despite the loss, he emphasized that his players are steadily grasping his football philosophy.

Amokachi praised his team’s tactical play and resilience, indicating his satisfaction with their performance. “Tactically, if you watch the game, they had a decent game. We will keep doing what we have to do and pick points away from home because it will do us well.” This resilience is something Amokachi aims to build on, as he believes that the squad's improved focus and discipline will pay off in future games.
