US Zilimadjou Proposes Uyo for Both First and Second Legs of CAF Champions League Tie with Rangers Intl

US Zilimadjou, the team set to face Rangers International FC in the CAF Champions League preliminary round, has expressed a willingness to play both legs of the tie in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.

According to Nigerian Sports journalist MikeThePundit, US Zilimadjou is unable to host the matches in their home country, Comoros, due to a lack of necessary approvals. As a result, they have proposed that the fixtures be held in Uyo. If the arrangements are finalized, the first leg of the preliminary round will take place in Uyo between August 16 and 18, while the return leg is scheduled for August 23 to 25.

This development is significant as it underscores the logistical challenges faced by teams in the CAF Champions League and highlights the flexibility required to ensure the smooth progression of the tournament. For Rangers International, this setup provides a potential advantage, playing on home soil for both matches.
