The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) recently received a significant financial boost of N1 billion from a media business, a move that promises to enhance the league's operations and support its teams. The distribution of these funds has been carefully structured to benefit various stakeholders within Nigerian football.
Of the total amount, 65% or N650 million is allocated directly to the 20 participating teams, equating to N32.5 million per team. This substantial allocation aims to provide financial stability and support for team development throughout the league. The NPFL itself will receive 10% of the total funds, amounting to N100 million, which will be used to oversee and improve league management and operations.
The remaining 25% of the funds, totaling N250 million, is designated for the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), GTI, and other relevant parties. This portion will support various administrative and developmental aspects of Nigerian football, ensuring that the sport continues to grow and thrive on multiple levels.
