Falconets Depart Nigeria for FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia



On August 16, 2024, the Nigerian Falconets gathered in Abuja for a significant send-off before their journey to the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia. The team met with the Honorable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Enoh, and the Permanent Secretary, Tinuke Watti, marking a formal farewell as they prepared to compete on the global stage.

The Falconets are set to compete in Group D of the tournament, where they will face formidable opponents: Germany, Venezuela, and Korea Republic. Their first match is scheduled for September 1st against Korea Republic at 18:00 local time at the El Techo Stadium in Bogota. This will be followed by a critical game against Germany on September 4th at 17:00 at the same venue. Their final group stage fixture will see them take on Venezuela on September 7th at 15:00 in Cali.
