Ekiti State Football League: Draw Held as Oluyemi Kayode Stadium to Host Super 8



The Ekiti State Football League (ESFL) has officially confirmed that the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado Ekiti will serve as the venue for this year's eagerly anticipated Super 8 tournament. The competition, scheduled to run from Monday, August 26 to Sunday, September 1, 2024, will feature some of the best teams from the league vying for supremacy and promotion.

The announcement was made by Mr. Soji Farotimi, Chairman of the League Committee, during a press briefing held on Thursday. Farotimi expressed his enthusiasm for the timing of the Super 8, acknowledging the support of the Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, and the Technical Advisor on Sports Development, Dr. (Mrs) Olusola Osetoba. Their contributions have fostered a favorable environment for the growth of football in the state.

Farotimi also highlighted the role of Aare Oluwole Oloworemo, Chairman of the Ekiti State Football Association, for his dedicated efforts. He assured that all necessary arrangements and logistics would be in place to ensure a successful and memorable tournament. Notably, Owu Sportswear has committed to providing jerseys for the two teams that will reach the Super 8 final, further enhancing the professionalism and appeal of the event.

The Super 8 tournament is crucial for determining the overall champion of the Ekiti State Football League and identifying the teams that will advance to the NLO Division 2 (U19 Youths League). The competition will feature eight teams divided into two groups. Group A includes Ikole United, Ekiti United Feeders, Dynamo FC, and Crown Royal FC. Group B comprises Fouye Dazzlers, Jaydyn FC, Adeyeye Adebowale FC, and NIS FC.

This structure ensures a dynamic and competitive environment as each team battles not only for the championship title but also for a chance to progress to a higher level of competition.
