Alaska FC Announces 11-Day Open Screening for Young Football Talents in Osogbo



Alaska FC, a prominent club in Nigeria's Nationwide League One (NLO), is poised to discover emerging football stars through an extensive open screening process. Scheduled to run from Monday, September 9, 2024, for 11 days, the event aims to identify and recruit talented young players aged 16 to 22. This initiative is designed to provide a valuable opportunity for youth to demonstrate their football skills and secure a position with the team for the upcoming NLO season and other club activities.

The screening will take place daily at 7:30 am on the Osogbo Grammar School field, also known locally as Osho Grammar School, situated in the Osho area of Osogbo. This location, renowned for its rich football heritage, will serve as the battleground for aspiring footballers to showcase their abilities.

Abdulazeez Abdulrazaq, the Head Coach of Alaska FC, who is widely recognized by the nickname “Hoppers,” expressed his enthusiasm for the screening program during a recent briefing in Osogbo. Coach Hoppers highlighted the club's dedication to discovering and nurturing young talent capable of advancing the team’s performance. “Our objective is to build a robust and cohesive team that can excel at various levels,” he explained.

Coach Abdulrazaq also revealed that successful candidates from the screening process will be integrated into Alaska FC's squad in preparation for the upcoming NLO season. Beyond the league, the club aims to support and develop young players who have the potential to make an impact on both the national and international football scenes.

The screening is anticipated to draw numerous hopefuls, all eager to make a favorable impression on the coaching staff and secure their spot with one of Osun State’s most ambitious football clubs.
