Al Merrikh SC Thrashes Gateway United 13-1 in Pre-CAF Champions League Warm-Up



In a commanding display of skill and dominance, Al Merrikh SC defeated Gateway United 13-1 in a friendly match held this evening at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne. This high-scoring encounter served as an important preparation for Al Merrikh SC as they gear up for their upcoming CAF Champions League paramilitary round game.

The Sudanese champions showcased their formidable attacking prowess throughout the match. Ahmad Tabanja opened the scoring in the 6th minute, setting the tone for what would become a goal-fest. Santiago Patino quickly followed up with two goals, netting in the 9th and 11th minutes. Anas Adam added to the tally with a goal in the 10th minute, further asserting Al Merrikh's dominance.

Mohamed El-Rashid continued the onslaught with a goal in the 30th minute, and Mousa Al-Tayeb contributed with a strike in the 35th minute. Mousa Hussein also had a remarkable showing, adding three more goals in the 56th, 58th, and 61st minutes. The final goal for Al Merrikh came from Moataz Al-Tawza in the 85th minute, capping off an extraordinary performance.
