CAF Extends Registration Deadline for Champions League and Confederation Cup

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced an extension of the registration deadline for clubs participating in the Champions League and Confederation Cup's first preliminary matches. The new deadline is now set for Thursday.

This development comes as the football community prepares for the upcoming competitions. The 2024-25 CAF Confederation Cup is scheduled to take place from August 2024 to May 2025, featuring a total of 52 teams from 40 associations.

The qualifying rounds are set to commence on August 18, 2024, and will conclude on September 2024. The competition proper will kick off in October 2024 and will culminate in the final match in May 2025.

Clubs are expected to register their players and squads before the new deadline to avoid any disqualification or penalties. The draw for the qualifying rounds was held on July 11, 2024, and each tie will be played on a home-and-away two-legged basis.

This extension provides clubs with additional time to complete their registration processes, ensuring a smooth and successful start to the competitions.
